From See Mom Run to Seeing Bobby Flay in NYC: Lots going on!

What a busy week! Wednesday I said no to a fun trip to NYC with Jo-Lynne and Melissa and Mindi so I could get my schoolwork done and teach class and keep some modicum of sanity this week. But, then came Thursday and Friday!

Thursday, I continued to say no during the day, missing an open house at the Tennis Addiction Sports Club but I finally got out that night to enjoy an evening with other blogging moms at Calista's Spa and Salon where we learned about hair and make up tips and helped Beth Feldman of Rolemommy.com launch her new book entitled See Mom Run which is a compilation of great anecdotes gathered from some great mom bloggers from all over the country. We also enjoyed hearing Beth sing to us one of the parodies she wrote. I didn't know before that night that her dream is to travel with a group singing these fun songs. She was awesome! Such a talented woman.

ACME Markets brought food for us to enjoy and let us know about specials and deals they will be starting as we near Thanksgiving and Christmas. The brownie I tried was very tasty. Also, by some random luck of the draw, I won one of the Swiffer wet jets and one of the pots the ACME ladies brought to give away via drawing. With all the winning, it almost made me want to go play the lottery with the lucky streak I was on but I decided to quit while I was ahead. Of course, I have to say thanks to Sarah of Chester County Moms for pulling the whole day of fun activities together! Oh, and Calista's sent us home with a nice bag of facial samples and bath products which was so nice of them.

And, so as I enjoyed my time with friends Thursday I debated and debated about the invitation I received for Friday from Maria Bailey of MomTalkRadio. Maria is in Florida but she has some rockin' New York City connections. So, do I go to NYC? Do I not go to New York City?

 
But, the invite to see Bobby Flay create some delicious holiday treats was too tempting to pass up!

Hellmanns has joined with Bobby Flay to create some wonderful Real Holiday Helpings recipes that are practical, simple and delicious. Usually, I go to an event to see the people and the other bloggers. I will unabashedly say, today I went to taste Bobby Flay's incredible cooking and it was WORTH the trip.

Bobby demonstrated a tasty sausage on bread appetizer, roasted green beans with an almondine sauce, and juicy turkey covered in a Tandoori curry sauce. Doesn't get any better than that. We also enjoyed a slice of his Turkey Cuban Sandwich. With tummies full of treats, we were given a generous bag of Bobby Flay products that can also be found at Kohl's Department stores.
