Wednesday, I joined a contingency of Philly area mom bloggers who headed to New York City to see the one and only Jillian Michaels, the tough-as-nails fitness trainer best known for whipping contestants into shape on The Biggest Loser.
Were we a little scared, a little intimidated? YES! Did we live to tell the tale? Absolutely.
See the group of us below (along with other bloggers who came for the event).
Let me start with a BIG THANK YOU to Beth and your PR staff from RoleMommy & BeyondPR, Majesco Entertainment, Bender Helper Impact and Krupp Communications for setting up this exciting day.
Jo-Lynne, Melissa, Sarah F. and her friend, Tara joined me as we took the train into the Big Apple to hear the scoop on Jillian's latest Wii Fitness Program (described in depth below)
We found Jillian to be warm, real, motivating and incredibly responsive to all our questions. She really has a heart for healthy living and is so excited about what technology can do for our workout routines in the future.
Of course, running into some of our blogging buddies made the trip totally fun too! Jane and Audrey walked in with us and I enjoyed getting to know Katya better when we went to dinner afterward (yes, we ate more than we burned yesterday - don't tell Jillian, K?)
{I won't try to mention everyone here since there were so many great ladies but I look forward to seeing all of you at future events!!}
See, doesn't this look fun? (See Jillian's exercise avatar to the left.)
Okay, I tried it. It is TOUGH, like it should be! And, you get called "Bogus" in Jillian's own words if you stop before the exercise is over! If you finish, you get a cool health tip. Jillian shared that she wants the next one (and this one is just coming out itself) to be even more adventuresome as you explore an island and find healthy treasures.
Here's a little video of Jillian explaining how the avatar exercises are created:
