Amazing Alliterations and Personable Personifications

"Mom . . . I need heelllpp again!"

Wait a minute. I am looking through the "Wordless Wednesday" pictures. How cute. How funny. How interesting. Oh, there's a "Works for Me Wednesday" link too. What great tips!

"Mom, what's an alliteration?"

Hold on. Hold on. I am leaving a comment. I can't edit a comment. Don't talk to Mom when she's COMMENT-ing. I can edit a post. I can't edit a comment and I have to sound good and look like I can spell. I have a reputation here. Hold on.

Alliteration. Alliteration. I remember something about those. Oh, wait, I have to leave my Thankful Thursday post or was it Thursday Thirteen? Coming up, I can't forget my Smiley Saturday.

"Mooommmm."

Okay, back to alliteration. Wasn't it something about words with the same first letter or was it the adjective with the same first letter as the noun or the same first letter in a group of words? Hmmm, look at these Monday Musings.

I'm thinking these bright boisterous bloggers might have mastered the whole alliteration thing.

"Okay, okay, Mom. I get it. Now what is personification?"

Well, let's check Mr. Dictionary to see what he says! A personification is "the act or fact of representing as a person" according to my ancient World Book Dictionary. I think Mr. Dictionary might still be right!

I love helping my kids learn all these wonderful English terms. We have fun learning together. Though we enjoyed homeschooling, I am glad the kids are back in school and that I can help them when they get home. There is nothing like homeschooling for one-on-one learning but when I was trying it out other life factors complicated matters making social networking impossible and it just didn't work out for us. I raise a hand in salute for those making it work. I still miss our Latin sessions and the math and science experiments. That being said, I love the school projects, field days, class parties and reliving school day experiences with my kids that bring me back to my own youth, good and bad.
